History
PuraNatura Foundation was founded on the 11th of July 2007 by a group of socially responsible operating executives from within the Dutch horticultural industry. The first years were spent to fine-tune a novel organic cultivation method without artificial fertilizers and without fertilizers from animal origin or animal manure.
In 2008 PuraNatura bell-pepper grower 4Evergreen was awarded its first USDA NOP Organic certificate, and has renewed it ever since. East Coast US customers enjoy already for six years their exquisite bell-peppers.
In 2011 the PuraNatura growers started experimenting with cucumbers and tomatoes and currently produce organic eggplant and zucchinis as well. Lately we have initiated tests with other –lesser known vegetables, for their health enhancing characteristics.
In 2012 PuraNatura Foundation received a grant from the European Fund for Regional Development for further development of its specific type of organic cultivation method.
Early 2013 PuraNatura was invited to make its case for a more inclusive European organic legislation in the European Parliament. “Make the exclusive good into the inclusive better” http://www.slideshare.net/peterjens/ep-22-jan-2013def-ad
On October 18th, 2013 the North American license system will be launched in New Orleans for production in the United States, Mexico and Canada.
By 2017 the Supervisory Board wants PuraNatura Foundation to be an acknowledged driver of sustainably intensified organic greenhouse horticulture throughout the world.
